The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), located within the Department of Commerce, is the Executive Branch agency that is principally responsible for advising the President on telecommunications and information policy issues. On April 11, 2023, NTIA published a Request for Comment seeking feedback on policies that can support the development of AI audits, assessments, certifications and other mechanisms to create earned trust in AI systems.
